Rent from ANYONE else at night! Our flight arrived just before midnight, and when I chose the rental agency, I thought, Hertz is supposed to be the best, so I'll go with them. My first time using Hertz because they are normally substantially more expensive than everyone else. When I confirmed my rental, a message popped up and said there would be someone still there. Our flight landed, my husband went to get the luggage while I went to get the car. Still before midnight. I walked into the rental car center and EVERY desk had people working the counters EXCEPT Hertz. There was a sign directing me to go to the office on the second floor. I went up there, found that office and it had a sign saying it was closed. No other explanation. As I stood there pondering what to do, another customer came along, we discussed it, and then they saw a small kiosk on the other side of the garage where there was activity. I walked over and it was the checkout kiosk, and she was busy. When I finally got a chance, she told me that yes, she could help me with the rental, but that she was doing double duty and so it was quite a wait. She did an excellent job, and I can't say how much I appreciated her customer service, but it was not a very smooth process. By the time I got the car, my husband had walked off to try to find me, and we both walked around for about 25 minutes before we found each other and got to our car. We left the airport around 1:00 AM, and were probably the last passengers out that night. I will definitely not use Hertz at the Milwaukee airport again. And I do fly into Milwaukee a few times each year. The car was fine, the return went smoothly but the pick up was a mess!
Had a reservation, told me I would still have to wait 45 minutes for a car. They had cars for which they said I could pay more because they were "upgrades" but rather than just offering them to their waiting customers they made us all sit and wait for the car types we paid for. I remember when Hertz used to be worth paying more for. You're just as well off with any of the budget options at this point.
Great experience!! Got to the Hertz counter and since I am a Gold Club and 5 star member, they told me to go out to the lot, choose my car and drive off. Keys were already in the car. Upon return, checking in was a snap, as I drove up, an attendant greeted me, took down mileage, etc., and that was all there was to it. Thank you Hertz!!
The people at the service counter in the airport were super nice even though it was super early in the morning. Everything went smoothly and when I got the car it was spotless. Thanks for such good service!
I book travel/ hotel/ car rentals for the CEO and Sales Team of our companies. Hertz is my go to for car rentals since we have "Gold Counter Status". On a recent trip our CEO flew in from a long day of travel and did not leave the car rental area almost an hour and half after his plane landed. There are no signs directing individuals to the pick-up area/ counter. They do not have a gold counter/ canopy service for those with priority. The employees behind the counter this particular evening were less than helpful and rude. Once he got in his rental there was only one person checking out cars. The lack of clear signage, decent customer service and readily available check out lanes is the reason why I will not use this Hertz at the Milwaukee Airport. PLEASE USE ANY OTHER COMPANY!
