I was very disappointed in this hotel. My room has a king size bed but only a queen size sheet. It kept slipping off the mattress and it was a bit of a surprise when I climbed into bed and found my feet on the mattress pad. They hadn't even bothered to make sure the mattress was covered. I can honestly say this is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in a hotel room. When I took a shower in the morning there was some kind of mold on the grout in the shower. When I checked out I told the clerk about the bed situation and his response was that he would let housekeeping know. I also asked for a receipt for my stay but was informed that it wouldn't show anything and I was not given one. This left me a little puzzled but I thought what the hell, I'll call later and get one. I was left with the feeling that they couldn't care less about their customers.
We'll be back in the near future, and hopefully the service staff will not be so overwhelmed on our next visit.
I wasn't an overnight guest, but I was looking for a breakfast buffet on a Sunday morning (thanks to google map suggestions that morning) and was presented with a smaller but enjoyable buffet within the attached hotel restaurant.
My room was nice; it contained a king sized bed and a full sofa. The heating could have been stable, but its a cold climate so I'm sure it is hard to control. Allgauers, the restaurant was nice, but ask about portion sizes before you go. A "cup" of soup was very large and the WI meat and cheese plate could feed a family. Very, very good selection and quality.
The hotel is very comfortable and quiet. It's located in a professional business park and many of the guests seem to be professionals. There are not as many as families. They put out fresh lemon water and cookies in the evening. The pool is a nice size and has a hot tub and sauna adjacent to an exercise room. All provided great entertainer for our family. The hotel restaurant was great for breakfast. It's one of our favorite hotel breakfasts. Bacon, sausage, eggs any way you want them, fruit, French toast, waffles, pancakes and more. Staff was very nice. The only reason I knocked a star off, was because 3 days in a row we were short on towels. There were 4 of us in a 2 quiet room, so we wanted 4 towels. The front desk was nice and gave us the towels and said they would write it down for housekeeping but that didn't seem to help. Otherwise, the room was clean and in order. We've stayed here before and likely will again due to the quietness, easy location, great breakfast and trouble free parking.
The convention center at the Hilton is nice. It's one big room that can be divided into as many as 6 smaller rooms. It will be perfect for our usage as one big room with 3 smaller class rooms.
Having worked in the service industry for 5+ years in my past, I understand how one server can be overwhelmed with 30+ customers that need attention; be it coffee, special orders or just to pay their bills. I didn't get her name as she was slammed, but she worked her tables masterfully.
The buffet was priced about $12.50 per person, about average for a hotel restaurant. Since it was a buffet, having one service staff employee running around multiple areas of the restaurant was not a major issue, as the service staff assistants took care of the tables and providing coffee refills.
