I was laid off and had to leave my apartment. Shoreline considered my loss of job a breach of contract. They billed me for $2,000 after promising not to. When I refused on principle I was threatened and sued for the money.
Prett spacious, was able to decorate my living room nicely. Manager does keep the place clean. But they take quite a while for maintenance requests.
Ultimately, I did not receive the funds back. Moving out was the best decision I ever made. And even now, months later, the apartment is vacant. I will never rent from shoreline again. They are unprofessional and disrespectful with no loyalty to their tenants.
Beware of the lease when you sign, they say it is 6 month but I assure you it is NOT. It's kind of hidden in there, you can not move out from November through March. a 6 month lease can easily turn into a 10 month lease. So no matter how much you hear it's only a 6 month lease DO NOT believe it, check the dates if you plan on moving out in the future, your lease is longer than you may think!
Crappiest landlord ever.
My years there were filled with broken elevators, rattling windows, and radiators that would not turn on, despite heat being included in the rent.
My efficiency got so humid in summer that it caused a mold problem, my drawers in the kitchen rotted out, Shoreline refused to replace and billed me. The lady above me fell asleep while running the tub and kindly remodeled my apartment, removing the entire plaster ceiling. Shoreline took too weeks to replace, told me to not use my shower until 3 days after the new ceiling was in. I was not only refused a prorate but was charged.
A disagreement ensued and I provided photos of the clean apartment and verification of all the maintenance issues and lack of heat through the years.
Do not use if you value your financial stability and sanity. Shoreline is simply the worst of the worst.
Needs a lot of work, windows doors, cabinets are so old that the wood swells up and they can't open or close properly.
The plumbing here is super outdated it's clogged almost on a daily basis. The shelves in the kitchen are very small. I can't even fit a standard size microwave on the counter. It's hanging off the edge and i need to leave the cabinet open or closed. Otherwise move the whole microwave.
Impressive for a big company. I've rented from shoreliner for a year and a half and while they do seem a bit disorganized, the apartment managers have always been kind and with some gentle repeat requests maitenance issues have been resolved. Major maitenance issues have been quickly resolved. The management at the plaza has been prompt, respectful and flexible.
Upon leaving, I had two walk throughs with the building manager and the apartment was cleaner than when I moved in. But a hefty deduction was still taken for cleaning.
I cannot compel tenants enough not to rent from this company. I lived at one of their residences for four years. My rent was paid on time, the apartment was clean and I respected the building members.
My bank screwed up my new checks when I first moved in. As the punishment Wendy with shoreline charged me 2 months rent. My bank called and sent an official letter with an iffer to pay the penalty for me. Shoreline refused their offer. My bank called to personally talk to Shoreline and were literally told over the phone to “f*** off”. They wanted it directly from my account because I had to be punished.
I have rented from Shoreline for the last 4 years. My experience has been nothing short of excellent. Great people, great service, etc. -Matt C
