Always went to "The Domes" as a child. Even brought our kids for years. Still just a fun place to visit! Really wish Milwaukee County Parks would update these truly iconic Milwaukee structures! They were ground breaking in the 50's-60's, can't we find a way to restore all of Milwaukee County Parks to their former glory?
There are 3 lovely domes that are easy to explore: The tropical, desert, and show room. It's a great place to experience nature. I do love that they had certain displays where visitors are encouraged to tough certain plants. There is also a quite a bit a humor in the design and information displays. Definitely worth a visit!
Just like I remember it from when I visited as a kid! These classic structures are a landmark for the city and always have a seasonal display in one of the domes. Amazing variety of plants and trees. The tropical dome has a very interesting exhibit that outlines a number of plants which affected the course of history. Minimal admission, bring your student ID if you have one for a discount.
This is a very nice dome park to take your kids or escape the snow and cold. Like very much their dessert dome as I am a big fan of succulents.
First time visit today. The domes were neat. Three separate themes desert, tropical and a show dome with a rotating theme. A lot of beautiful flowers and birds. Nice and warm inside so can take off the coat. Can see it all in about an hour.
Jungle dome is kind of tough is you do not like humidity and heat.
