We sat outside on a cold winter evening by the fire pit under the radiant heaters. It was cool, but not cold by any means. The patio is enclosed by a glass roof and a plastic "tarp" sidewall during the winter. We eventually moved inside for one more drink as the exterior space was reserved starting at 8 PM (on a Tuesday night??). Service was good, or waitress was always prompt and kept us served well.
Good atmosphere, but the drinks are a bit pricy.
I don't know what they would do in the rain or in the winter, it seems like that would detract from the best thing they have going for them.
Great appetizers and a wonderful specialty drink selection. Prices are a bit steep, but remember, you are in the Third Ward.
The bar is on the rooftop of a hotel, and most of the barspace is uncovered, which gives a really good view of city. They really put a lot of thought into balcony decorations, and the overall atmosphere feels really fun in an upscale way.
As the sun set in the distance and a crowd invaded the bar like Vikings fighting for conquest I entered. Taken aback by the stunning views and incredible ambiance, I came through my dumbfounded haze with a thirst that no man should need. Bottle after bottle of golden bourbons lined the wall at times blocked by the frantic and efficient pace of a seasoned bar staff. The crowd was relentless crying for more and with each bark they were satiated. My turn came, in that moment I through caution to the wind and ordered one of their signature cocktails. It far from disappointed. It was a rollercoaster of flavors, Savory, smoke, citrus. I felt as though my pallet were taken in a rocket ship and blasted to planet flavor. The captain of this ship, My Captain was a true gentleman, knowledgeable, friendly, charming and handsome. To be put in such capable hands had yet to present itself in my life before as well as after this moment. I can go on for days, but the libations are starting to wear off and the shakes are starting to set in. So I bid you farewell.
I would have like to have tried one of the cocktails, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $14 for them, especially when there are more reasonable places to get a cocktail nearby.
BUT the only thing that I would change is the bar. Their bartenders run ragged and it is not their fault that it takes us 30 minutes just to get one drink. They really should open up the outside bar into at least a beer bar or get more help.
Satisfied
This is a great place to meet and have fun, but beware of pricing! I ordered a couple glasses of the house cab without looking at the price. I expected a "house cab" to be in the $8 to $10 price range. Surprise: $19 per glass. Be careful.
The beer selection is pretty good, and they have several local microbreweries, like Third Space and Good City, on tap at the time of this review, although they do not have any beers available for less than $6.
Okay, I cannot stress enough that the view up here is spectacular and the vibes are chic. I love this venue and my friends and I stop here at least once a week.
